The problem of studying needs is one of the most pressing in the system of social, including pedagogical knowledge. The fruitful implementation of the pedagogical process cannot but rely on meaningful ideas about the needs of social actors interacting within the framework of a particular educational society. At the same time, we proceed from the fact that needs act as initial drivers of the activity of a social subject, reflecting the objective conditions of its existence and being one of the most important forms of communication with the outside world.
For pedagogical research, the analysis of the need as an internal source of purposeful activity of a person and social groups is very important because it allows to determine their target orientation. At the same time, this makes it possible to detect the degree of coincidence of the individual’s needs with social needs. At the National Education Trust the things are taken quite seriously.
Since the need is the source and means of socialization of the individual, contributing to its movement forward, it is at the core of the development of education. Socialization and the formation of personality are internally interconnected by needs, more precisely, their formation and implementation.
- One of the fundamental needs of man is the need for education. For many social groups (especially those who study and teach), it is already central in the system of their needs. It can be considered as a necessary condition for the normal functioning and development of modern man.
- The need for education acts not only as a way of personal development, but also as a means of satisfying other needs. It arises and develops in a certain social context, manifesting itself in various activities, which makes it possible to call it a system-forming, pivotal in the structure of the needs of individual social groups for which education is the leading value. The need for education contributes to improving the cultural level of a person and makes it possible to realize his essential strength. At present, not only education itself, but also the need for it, is becoming increasingly valuable. However, it cannot be formed and satisfied without developing adequately the educational system.
Therefore, the relevance of the topic arises from the contradiction between the existing educational needs of the subjects of the educational process in an educational institution and the need to create social and pedagogical conditions for their development and satisfaction in order to realize the essential forces of students and teachers.
With this in mind, it becomes clear how significant the problem is the need for education, its formation and implementation in modern conditions. A certain difficulty in the development of this problem is that it is studied in fragmentary different sciences – social philosophy, sociology, psychology, pedagogy. At the same time, an integrative approach to this problem is still being formed. Pedagogical study of educational needs involves solving primarily theoretical and practical issues concerning the nature, content, types of educational needs, disclosure of its functions and role in the life of an educational institution, its main social subjects – students and teachers.
